Hi all. Is there a way I can send a .exe attachment without someones server saying it's illegal or looks like a virus and rejecting it? What I'm trying to do is send the email stripper program and it got through to some, but a couple of my friends' servers rejected the program because of the reasons above. Thanks for any help.

Troy, zip the exe file with winzip or whatever zip compression program you like. It should pass without a problem. I use GMail and I know they don't accept .EXE files. I like winzip the best. the only drag is once you install a zip utillity it disarms winxp's abillity to open a zip folder and when you click on a zip file the winzip softwaer will come up. I love the fact that windows xp treats zip files like a folder. Nice. so, zip it up and send it out.
Alternatively you could just change the file extention to .ZIP instead of .EXE and then get the person at the other end to change it back when they recieve it. That will work equally as well.
from what i've heard, that may not work in the future, and win xp can zip files, just click on compressed zip folder in the send to menu.
oy...why not just use yousendit? they usually go through just fine
not everyone has that you know
u send it sucks.
You send it isn't a program Rat that some do and some don't have. It is a website that you can use to upload things to peoples email addresses.
I wouldn't go so far as to say that you send it sucks, but I would agree that it is less than 100 percent perfect though. I've had several files fail when trying to use it.
I was going to suggest the name change, and maybe not even as far as to change to another extension. Just spell it wrong like e x a or e x dash or something and then explain in the email that it's an exe and they need to rename the file and change it back
Okay! gotta ask this. Where is teh compressed zip folder? I tried to use this but it didn't ask me what I wanted to call the folder. Does it just make a folder withthe file name and where does it put ot? Thanks.
